Secretary, Planning Commission Rep.

DiAnne Warfield
DiAnne has found her service as a DDA Board Member both rewarding and enlightening. "The DDA is involved in so many things," she said. "Every new thing is exciting to me." Before she served on the Board, DiAnne admits she didn't fully understand what the DDA did. "I am still surprised sometimes by the scope of our responsibilities," she says.
DiAnne works at the Holt Library and lives on Cedar Street, so she finds it exciting to watch some of the DDA's efforts, such as the streetlight project and the Veterans Memorial Gardens, take shape around her. "We're able to do things that make Holt better for everybody, the residents and businesses," she says.
She credits the DDA staff's efforts in researching and preparing briefs with helping her make informed decisions. "Everything you need to know is right there," she says. DiAnne is also impressed with the impact the DDA's "Our Town" newsletter has made. "I know people are reading it, and I've had a lot of people ask me about the DDA," she says.
While not a born-and-raised Holt resident, DiAnne moved here in 1993 to be close to her grandmother and loved the area. "We're here to stay," she says. She and her husband Steve have four children who attend Holt Public Schools. On top of her already busy life, DiAnne also plans children's programming and leads book discussion groups at the Holt branch of the Capital Area District Library.
